AWARDS & ADJUDICATION

This award goes to a routine that the judges feel displayed the "Most Outstanding" costume and is presented at each regional and national competition. This is an extra special award that must be entered into using the Studio Entry Form. Any routine who enters Outstanding Costume must re-enter center stage after their performance and hold 3 poses that best display their costume. Winners of Outstanding Costume will be invited to enter into the running for Turn It Up Dance Challenge's annual photo-shoot and more!

This award goes to the routine and choreographer that the judges feel displayed the best choreography and is presented at each regional and national competition.

At each regional and national competition Turn It Up Dance Challenge recognizes unique an entertaining performers with our special awards. These awards are custom designed and presented directly by our judges' panel.

This award goes to the studio whos dancers demonstrate the most professionalism, etiquette, and sportsmanship backstage at each regional and national competition and is presented at the completion of each regional and national competition.

This award goes to the routine that the judges feel was the most entertaining routine and is presented at each regional and national competition.

Turn It Up Dance Challenge will select top dancers from each of our regional competitions to be invited to join our Turn It Up Dance Challenge Dance Team! There will be 2 teams: a Junior and a Senior dance team! The dance team will get the chance to perform and work with top professionals at our Nationals Competition which will be held in Cape Cod, MA and Ocean City, MD. Once selected, members may choose which Nationals Team they would like to be a part of.

Remember: If you are selected for the Turn It Up Dance Challenge Dance Team you MUST accept your invitation by Friday May 18, 2012!
As a member of the dance team you will get to do the following:
1. You will have the chance to work with industry dance professionals including dancers from the hit show So You Think You Can Dance!
2. You will learn a routine that will be performed right before each of our award ceremonies at Nationals!
3. You're costumes, that you may keep, will be provided.
4. You will also score some great Turn It Up Dance Challenge apparel and more!!

Title awards are given out at our Regional and National competitions. (See Rule and Regs for more information on title) There will be a Mr & Miss Turn It Up Dance Challenge awarded at each competition. Title award winners will win a crown or sash, a large trophy, a cash scholarship or a cash prize(nationals), will be eligible participate in Turn It Up Dance Challenge's apparel line photo shoot for the next season, will be automatically invited to be a part of our Turn It Up Dance Challenge dance team and more!.

After each routine receives their adjudicated award, high scores will be given at every regional and national competition! At each competition we will award top scoring awards in each category AND age group! Depending on the amount of entries Turn It Up Dance Challenge will award between top 5 and 10 in each category AND age group. The high score in each age group will win the following cash prizes and scholarships.

Additional Notes

•In addition to the cash scholarship, each High Score Winner will receive a $100 off coupon for their studio to use towards a Ferreira Costume Purchase!
• Routines must score at least a 235 or higher in order to qualify for a high score award.
• Cash scholarships will be awarded at Regionals and cash will be awarded at Nationals to the studios of the winners. The chart above shows the average dollar amount given out in cash prizes. Amounts may vary depending on competition size.
• There must be at least 5 dances in each category to be eligible for cash prizes.
• Must be at least 3 dances in each category to qualify for a high score award.

This year we are excited to work closely with Broadway Connection to provide guest judges, top master teachers and enhanced awards for the regional and national season. Turn It Up Dance Challenge will be giving out 2 awards at each Regional and National competition on Behalf of our Broadway Connection judges. The awards are as follows...

Most Broadway Bound Choreographer/Dancer

• The person selected for this award has created ground breaking choreography with high energy and in the style of classic or contemporary Broadway.

Most Broadway Bound Performer

• The person selected for this award shows qualities of connecting with the music and shows commitment to the character & motivation of the dancing in the style of classic or contemporary Broadway. This performance is high energy, charismatic and outgoing.

Broadway Connection is also proud to offer the overall highest scoring group at Turn It Up Dance Challenge Nationals a scholarship that can be used towards a Broadway Connection master Class or Workshop at their studio!

We are proud to announce that our judges at each Nationals will be selecting outstanding soloists to receive Convention Scholarships good towards one convention in the 2012 fall season! If a Mini or Junior aged soloist is selected, they receive free admission to any one fall convention! If a Teen or Sr Teen aged soloist is selected, they are invited to assist our master teachers at any one fall convention of their choice in 2012!
